Pan Seared Steak

Bone in or Boneless Rib Eye or Sirloin (1 1/2 lbs)
Freedom Spice – Honey BBQ seasoning (1 tsp)
Olive oil (2 tsp)
Butter (3 Tbsp)
Sprig fresh parsley
Whole clove garlic, peeled (1)
Heat cast iron or heavy pan till smoking hot.
Prepare baste by mixing 3 Tbsp butter, 1 peeled clove garlic, and fresh parsley.
Add 2 tsp olive oil to coat.
Season one side of steak with Freedom Spice seasoning.
Sear for 2 minutes in pan without touching.
Season the steak side up with Freedom Spice.
Using tongs, flip meat and continue cooking 2 more minutes, basting meat with the butter mixture.
Flip and baste in 30 second increments. Cook 5 to 6 minutes total for medium rare – medium, and 7 to 8 minutes total for medium – well.
Turn off heat and cover meat with foil for 5 minutes, basting one more time.
Cut in half or cut in slices on the bias for serving. Enjoy!
Deglaze pan with 1/2 cup beef stock or cooking wine and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Add 1 Tbsp butter to thicken for a rich pan sauce. Optional: a generous pinch of peppercorns while simmering.
